How to get your PSM and PSPO certifications in two months
Yesterday I obtained my Professional Scrum Product Owner I certification from Scrum.org. This is after getting my Professional Scrum Master I certification in February.
Some people have asked why I opted for Professional Scrum Master (PSM) from Scrum.org instead of Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from Scrumalliance.org. I did research the differences between the certificates before choosing this route.
Scrum Alliance is a non-profit founded in 2002 by Ken Schwaber (one of the inventors of Scrum), Mike Cohn and Esther Derby. It came up with the first available Scrum certification — Certified Scrum Master and has helped increase the popularity of Scrum over the years. It also has Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) and other certifications available.
In 2009, Ken Schwaber had a disagreement with his co-founders and left Scrum Alliance. He eventually formed Scrum.org and launched the Professional series of certifications such as Professional Scrum Master (PSM) and Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO).
